Bajaj Pulsar 125 : Competition Check

Bajaj recently launched the Pulsar 125 Split Seat in India at Rs 79,091 (ex-showroom, Delhi). At that price, the market offers two motorcycles and three scooters that you can choose from. Here is what the list looks like.

Honda SP 125

The Honda SP 125 is based on the Shine although with premium features like an LED headlamp and tail lamp, fully-digital instrumentation that displays real-time efficiency and gear position indicator apart from the standard information as well as an engine kill switch. The SP 125’s motor puts out 10.5bhp of power and 10.3Nm of torque and is paired to a five-speed gearbox. Honda is offering the motorcycle in two variants- drum and disc priced at Rs 74,624 and Rs 78,824 respectively.

You can also opt for the Unicorn which is powered by a 163cc engine that produces 12.7bhp and 12.8Nm. The motorcycle’s conservative design has remained almost unchanged since its launch and yet continues to be one of Honda’s most popular models in India. Nevertheless, Honda has also kept the feature list the same. It comes with a tripod instrument cluster and a single-channel ABS as standard. The Honda Unicorn will cost you Rs 80,741.

TVS Ntorq 125

The Ntorq 125 is offered at a starting price of Rs 71,247. It is also available in a disc version that costs Rs 75,247 and Race Edition that is priced at Rs 78,827. The sporty TVS Ntorq 125 offers features like a LED DRL, Bluetooth-enabled digital screen, and engine kill switch as standard. Meanwhile, the Race Edition also comes with an additional LED headlamp and hazard light switch. Powering the scooter is a 125cc engine that produces 9.3bhp and 10.5Nm.

Aprilia SR 125

Another sports scooter in the price range of the Bajaj Pulsar 125 Split Seat is the Aprilia SR 125 that is priced at Rs 92,517. The SR 125 borrows its pit-scooter styling from the SR 150 and rides on large 14-inch wheels at both ends. Aprilia has equipped the SR 125 with a 124cc engine that puts out 9.4bhp of power and 8.2Nm of torque.
